Carl Craig has just announced plans to expand his recently started ‘Detroit Love’ project. The legendary dj/producer is planning to honour the birthplace of techno with a specially designed live set and an extensive tour in 2015.
The ‘Detroit Love’ concept was designed to ‘bring together and support the sounds of Detroit and take a little of the techno brotherhood to clubs and festivals the world over’ and was launched at the North Sea Jazz Club during ADE 2014 with sets by fellow Detroit luminaries Recloose and Moodymann and ´Mad´ Mike Banks (Underground Resistance) playing keys over Carl Craig’s 4-cd-deck closing set. Craig is currently working on a video installation that depicts the urban landscape of Detroit.
‘Love is what I have for my city, Detroit. ‘Detroit Love’ is my way of spreading this love, a love for music from the city, my heritage and who I am as a producer and performer. My love for Detroit is my inspiration, my inspiration is ‘Detroit Love’.’
The Detroit Love caravan will stop at Movement Detroit, Off Sonar and in Berlin, Ibiza, Paris and Miami in 2015. More details are yet to be released.
