Later this month Swedish label Local Talk releases an ace new two track EP by the Detroit house legend that is Terrence Parker. Check out the timeless stormer ‘Gratiot Avenue Piano’ below. We’re pretty sure you’ll like it.
“Gratiot Avenue Piano” starts like an instant Terrence Parker classic with a banging 909 and hihats swinging all over the place, creating an infectious organ groove that has ‘quality’ written all over it. A masterclass in timeless house music by the unstoppable veteran.
B-side ‘Unconditional’ is great too, pairing a subdued but funky bassline to a nicely grooving synth, with a trademark TP vocal sample thrown in for good measure. We take our hats off to this true grandmaster who’s been on top of his game for more than 25 years now.
The new Terrence Parker EP is the follow up to Jamie 3;26 and Masalo’s stellar ‘Testify’, that was released earlier this year by the Swedish label.
‘Gratiot Avenue Piano’ is out on March 20th through Local Talk.
