Drax – The 3rd Decade (Perc Trax)

German hard acid pioneer Thomas P. Heckmann revives his alter ego Drax after a thirteen year hiatus with a new three track EP for Perc Trax.

Opener ‘Acid Brick’ is classic Thomas P. Heckmann; a relentless and sturdy yet rubbery groove is the perfect backdrop for seven minutes of pure, uncut 303 mayhem. On ‘Razorblade’ the acid veteran takes on a different approach, freaking out completely over a hard as nails electro breakbeat.

‘Low Machine’ rounds off this three track EP. It’s a slow burning piece of industrial electro with menacing undertones in the vein of J. Saul Kane (Octagon Man, Depth Charge), yet unmistakably Heckmann. Good stuff.

‘The 3rd Decade’ is out now on Perc Trax.
