Multi-talented UK wonderboy Floating Points has just released a video of ‘Silhouettes’, taken from his highly anticipated debut album ‘Elaenia’.
According to the accompanying info ‘Silhouettes’ is comprised of music from ‘Silhouettes parts I, II and III’ that are to be found on the album that’s due out in november via Pluto. ‘Silhouettes’ is an extremely powerful mixture of downtempo electronica, drum & bass, jazzfunk and (neo) classical music with elememts of post-rock, avantgarde and psychedelica thrown in for good measure.
The experimental video was directed by Pablo Barquín, Junior Martínez, Nathan Grimes and Anna Diaz Ortuño and comes with the following message from the directors: “an oscillating stream of light attempts to intrude on an arid natural landscape, abstract light and a living environment merge, reacting to the dynamics of the music. The luminous abstract forms are produced by a light painting machine that, frame by frame, draws in a real environment the 3D animated figures.”
‘Elaenia’ is out on November 6 via Pluto. You can pre-order the album here.
