Jeff Mills is currently putting the final touches on ‘Exhibitionist 2’. The CD/DVD package will be preceded by part one of two four-track 12-inches, out next month on Axis Records.
Part 1 of ‘The Exhibitionist’ was released in 2004 and featured The Wizard mixing across three decks. With Part 2 Mills is giving the audience the chance to see how the music he makes and plays is actually constructed. “Expanding the art forms in dance music has always been an agenda that needs constant monitoring because it has the ability to evolve and develop each and every idea at angles that are not easy to see or understand for most of the listening and dancing audiences, I’ve always felt that dance music would make more sense to the people if they were allowed chances to understand how the music is being programmed and made – to witness this process from the beginning.”
So far 2015 has been an extremely busy year for Mills. He’s released a live album with classical pianist Mikhail Rudy, put out the triple-CD ‘Woman in the Moon’ and issued a USB-only album called ‘Proxima Centauri’, in addition to expanding his ‘Time Tunnel’ project and playing with symphony orchestras all over the world.
