Josh Wink has just dropped a new track and it’s pretty big. Chances are you’ve already heard Marcel Dettmann, Nina Kraviz, Seth Troxler, Roman Flugel, Ame, Richie Hawtin, Marc Romboy, Sasha, Soul Clap, Adam Beyer or Loco Dice play this somewhere these last weeks.

Wink ’s intense and hypnotic new track ‘Denial’ comes in three mixes that are all built around a darkly pulsating 909 rhythm and a haunting vocal sample, with classic 303 sounds added to the ‘Prise D’Acid’ version and some serious jackin’ going on on the ‘Tweak Dub’. It’s on repeat right now here at House Cult HQ.

Josh Wink about the new release: “I enjoy my role as a kind of musical therapist, helping people get in to the now and be present; leaving their concerns of whatever behind and surrendering to the moment to be one with the music. ‘Denial’ is my musical interpretation of where my head is as a DJ; it’s cerebral, eyes closed, getting lost in the music, techno with a heavy nod to the journey of getting lost. The message is to live in the present, remember the past and trust the future. When we say ‘live in the future’ it becomes a repudiation of living in the present, and then instantly we are in a state of denial.”

‘Denial’ is out in May on Ovum.
