The Italian producer, whose real name was Max Magrini, recently cancelled a gig at Tresor due to health problems. His close friend Freddy K. stated the following message on Facebook early sunday morning: “Today is the saddest day of my life. This night my best friend ever passed away. Max has died from cancer that took him away in three weeks. He was my best friend for more than 20 years. We have shared true friendship, we’ve built so many things together, we have our secrets, we shared our little things, we shared our passion that has always united us: techno. A true brother, I can only cry and cry. I’m happy just to have been there close to him until his last breath. Life is not fair. I’ll try to come back to myself, but it never will be as it was before. Max, I love you and I will always love you, nothing will ever be the same without you.”
Magrini released music on Urban Mantra, Impact Mechanics, Parachute and his own M_Rec imprint, that has brought out records by Echologist, Samuli Kemppi, Tadeo, Stanislav Tolkachev and Cassegrain.
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
