The Berlin-based 777 imprint has released five records so far and, well, they’re all pretty impressive. The latest addition to their distinctive catalogue is no exception, aiming straight for the beating heart of house.
A few months ago we were already blown away by the fourth 777 record, a split EP showcasing the talents of up-and-coming Croatian producers Ftp-Up and Brighton. The stunning four tracker featured a banging Chicago-style jack track, a classic sounding acid track and two slices of warm-blooded deephouse in the truest sense of the word. The new 777 EP by Orson Wells is yet another big one.
‘A Connection’ opens with the moody and heavy hearted title track before moving into Virgo territory with the melancholic ‘Distant Dreams’. The acidified ‘Ratio’ rounds off this seriously deep house music extravaganza in style. This may not be for everyone, but it’s exactly the way we like it here at House Cult HQ: raw, emotional deep house music that embraces your heart, grabs your throat and moves your feet.
‘A Connection’ and ‘Brothers’ are out now on 777.
