Various Cuts #1 (ClekClekBoom)

Over the last two years ClekClekBoom has become a firm favourite here at House Cult HQ. The French imprint starts the new year with a four track mini compilation of fresh new material.

If you’re looking for a raw, take-no-prisoners warehouse-type sound that’s both timeless and contemporary ClekClekBoom is your best bet right now. The Paris based label had a great run last year dropping bombs by Jean Nipon, Coni and French Fries, who issued his brilliant debut album ‘Kepler’ on ClekClekBoom in february 2014.

French Fries teams up with fellow French producers NSDOS for the opener ‘8 Hours From Nation’, a raw, jackin’ house workout that sets the tone perfectly for this great EP. Aleqs Notal takes on a similar approach, delivering a hypnotic Chicago-style house jam withe spacey synth pads. Jean Nipon sounds slightly more modern on the heavy shuffle banger ‘Cause of Action’, while Amsterdam DJ/Producer Barbara Ford, the latest addition to the ClekClekBoom roster, puts in a heavy analogue acid jam. Lovely work all around.

‘Various Cuts #1’ is out on february 2. Get it here.
